Emily's been taking a wood carving workshop this week with Rick Wiebe (aka Mr. Chips). She's had fun learning the different ways to cut wood to make various projects and shapes. This is right up her alley!
Another quick thing I found yesterday was a fabulous webpage. If you're homeschooling you will definitely find this useful.
Be sure to check out and bookmark this. If your kids are younger watch some of the videos in Arithmetic and Developmental Math. I think this will be a good supplement to our Life of Fred math program!

I am so happy for Emily as she learns properly how to handle a knife and to carve with skill. She will be busy with her hobby as much as she wants to be.
Hey, is this Rick Wiebe the former pastor at Dawson Creek Alliance. If it is then he really is an amazing woodcrafter. He and Dad were both on the Sagitawa board together.

Yes, I think it is the same Rick Wiebe. He looked vaguely familiar to me... does he have a kid my age? I'll post a pic of him and you can tell me if it's the same guy.
