Feels like this is our reality this weekend. Since Maxx died Anna has been looking for a new dog to be her very own. On Saturday we looked at a few different pooches and she brought home "Emma" who is a cute little brown & white collie cross. As soon as we got her home it was obvious we would likely have to give her back since she is seriously food aggressive with Toby. She's "okay" with people but will actually fly across the room and attack Toby when there's food in the room (even if it isn't dog food!). She also growled and snapped at Anna in the car yesterday which is a bad sign. I understand she is stressed with the change of scenery, but these are unacceptable behaviours, in my opinion.
We tried contacting the original owner but she is out of town on a family emergency and has asked us to go ahead and sell the dog! Unbelieveable. Anyway, here is the Kijiji Ad.
The really stressful part of all this is that Anna has already purchased another puppy, we'll call her "fluffy puppy" and we'd like to bring her home ASAP! She is an adorable Golden Retriever crossed with Alaskan Malamute and has the nicest temperament. She was raised in a home with teenagers and kids and will be going straight from her birthplace to us.... now THAT'S the kind of dog we really want!
So, we need to "unload" this "nasty puppy" so we can bring home "fluffy puppy". Any takers? LOL

Just talked to the previous owner of "nasty puppy"... she won't refund Anna's money. Here's a direct quote from her email:
"Unfortunately with our financial challenges in our lives we are unable to refund Anna's money. I am sorry that she worked hard for it and we feel bad but I hope with your kijiji ad she'll be reimbursed. God bless Anna for helping us in our financial times we hope she will never endure the struggles we have this year."

Wow, first a nasty dog and then they put their financial problems on you! That's pretty amazing. I truly hope she does get her money back with a good home for the dog.
Its just like Anna to respond in such a gracious way! Thanks Anna for showing us that we can always choose how we will respond to any situation.
Well, it looks like these things are ALL working out and we will be so glad with the final results.
