Well, it's that time of year again. Time for starting fresh with new routines and goals. This January I've decided to sign up with
Flylady... again. I've been working on her program for a week so far and the house definitely feels cleaner (even completed some tasks that I would normally relegate to "spring cleaning") and I feel more relaxed and organized.
One of Flylady's main concepts is to keep a Shiny Sink in the kitchen. Normally this thrills me to pieces because I really love a shiny sink but I now have a black acrylic sink. When I bought this thing the box said it wouldn't scratch or scuff but, apparently, they lied. My sink is horribly scratched and I just can't get it to shine. Today I bought some turtle wax polish and some spray on shiny stuff. It certainly looks improved but still not like new. I may enlist the help of hubby to use an actual buffer with 1500 grit sandpaper to try and smooth it out. But, for now, I'm happy with the results of my afternoon's work.
Now I'm off to make dinner and enjoy the evening with my family knowing all my chores and tasks are finished. Thank-you, Flylady!

Before. As clean as I could get it. This is after a one hour hot water & vinegar soak, a scrub with Vim, and spray with Windex.

After. Better but still not good enough.

This is what my sink is supposed to look like every morning. It actually does most mornings and it's a great start to the day!
