Disneyland - Day 1

Well, it's been 19 years since I've been to the "Happiest Place on Earth" and today we are flying to LAX, taking the Disneyland Express to our hotel (Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate Marriott), going for a swim, ordering pizza, then walking over to Downtown Disney to pick up our tickets for tomorrow.

I am SO excited I can't sleep. I was wide awake at 5:30 this morning and decided to get up and play on the computer for awhile 'till it's time to get ready to go. Feels like Christmas morning!!!

I'm a little nervous about all the details for this cross-border international trip. There are so many rules about packing your stuff for the airplane and with 5 people to pack for I hope we won't be delayed at check-in. I already pre-boarded us for the flight so I think it should be fairly straightforward.

We hummed and hawed about renting a car 'cause we could probably find one for the same price as the airport shuttle and taxi to Medieval Times, but the added stress of picking up the car at the airport (they shuttle you to their car lot a few miles away), driving in LA traffic, and then leaving the thing parked most of the week just didn't warrant the stress. So, this will be another interesting aspect of our trip.... to be vehicle-less!!! Thankfully the hotel offers a complimentary grocery shopping service :-)

Well, I'm off to do a little Facebooking then I'll jump in the shower and start getting ready to go!!
