Disneyland - Day 2

WOW!!! What an incredibly packed day we had... I scarcely know where to begin. I've love to "start at the very beginning" but I fear I would be waylaid far too long sitting here at my computer writing this blog instead of going to bed so I can have a "million dreams"!!!

I must give the most basic highlights of the day first, though:

1. Emily managed to secure us a spot at the very FRONT of the line to get through the gates into the park. Oh, and I should mention that Laura, Emily & I were overwhelmed with tears as we walked into the park (with all that beautiful music, and the people, and the heat.... I'm sure you understand!! LOL)

2. Within our first 2 1/2 hours Em managed to score 11 Character AUTOGRAPHS!!! Way to go, Emily!!

3. One of our first Disneyland experiences (apart from the rides) was to be stopped by two cast members handing out "Year of a Million Dreams" prizes!!! And just as a bonus to us, we each received TWO prizes!!! All five of us got our own "Dream FastPass" and a beautiful lanyard with 2 collectible "Year of a Million Dreams" pins on them. This, by the way, started a new hobby.... pin trading!! We were TOTALLY blown away by this experience.

4. Laura and Anna were enamoured to finally meet Captain Jack Sparrow... sigh... my hero. Unfortunately our time on Tom Sawyer's Island was cut short due to a hive of mean and nasty bees attacking the tourists (or something along those lines, anyway!!)

5. We had our first experience at Disney's California Adventure Park and it is fantastic. So many beautiful things to see and lots of things to experience.

Well, I better get off to bed. I will definitely be writing and posting more tomorrow.

Thanks for all your comments.... it's nice to be in touch with y'all :-)

PS The hotel, pool, staff, and food are excellent!!!

Too cool for you guys! Like I said you are going to have so many wonderful memories. I love seeing families who have saved and sacrificed to make a family vacation like this happen and then see how incredible it is for them to finally experience. Keep the pictures and stories coming!!!

I am so very happy for you! Many times during my day, I wonder what you might be doing or where you are and what your experiences might be at that particular time. I can hardly wait for some more postings and some pictures, you guys are incredible and we both love you so very much.

What better place could there be for you to celebrate your birthday Kent? Hope you have an unforgettable one tomorrow!
