Rally in Edmonton

Here's a video & a couple pics from the rally the girls & I attended at the steps of the Alberta Legislature on March 19th. We were protesting Section 16 in Bill 2 as we feel they need to remove the phrase "and the Alberta Human Rights Act". This act has historically been used to persecute Christians here in Alberta and it has absolutely NO place in our Education Act. The freedom for parents or private or Christian schools to teach their kids from a Biblical Worldview is at stake.

Since the rally, it looks like Bill 2 has died as the Premier has called a provincial election before it was passed. It will likely be back on the table once the new provincial government is elected and we will have to deal with it again at that point.

It was quite an experience to attend this peaceful rally and I felt proud to be a Canadian and an Albertan with the freedom to express my political and religious beliefs. We live in an amazing country and a fabulous province!! As we prayed for our leaders, sang O Canada (all four verses!) and listened to some great speakers, I never once feared for our safety or the safety of those around us. We are truly grateful to those who sacrificed their lives so we could have this freedom today.

In spite of the cold temperatures and the threat of a snow storm, 2100 people gathered at the Legislature to make their voice heard.
