We just got back from Spruce Meadows and I'm so PROUD of my girls!!! All three of them won ribbons for the artwork they entered in the Red Ribbon Contest and Emily won FIRST overall AND THIRD overall!! WOW. Emily's ribbons entitle her to some cash winnings as well so she is pumped! This is how she makes 90% of her annual income ;-) Not bad for a 10 year old, eh?
Anna's oil is the crashing waves, Laura's is the two girls (her and her sist

er) in the water, and mine is the tree. I haven't scanned Emily's yet but I will do that and post it here later.I entered my "tree" painting but didn't win anythin

g. There was some pretty stiff competition this year and the winners in the adult categories definitely deserved it. It was fun to just see what other Calgarians are painting and to see their talents and skills displayed.
I've been to the "National" competition at Spruce Meadows 4 years in a row and every year it's rained like crazy. Again today it was pouring rain and we were soaked and cold :-( Of course, we were a LITTLE more prepared but we still forgot our umbrellas! Next year we're wearing gum-boots, umbrellas and raincoats. Mark my words, if we do that, it will be hot and sunny!
Anyway, I DID have a little bitty headache when I woke up this morning (probably caffeine in my system from last night's tea) but it left after my shower. Unfortunately, around supper-time I had a killer headache that not even the Advil could touch. Kent gave me a deep, quick massage in my neck, I ate supper, and then it went away. I'm really thinking now that the headaches have alot to do with my blood sugar readings. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday this week to ask about my big toe (arthritis with possible bone-spurs is my self-diagnosis) and I think I will request a blood panel to be done just to make sure my blood sugars are normal.
Well, it's nice to be home and DRY!! I'll write again tomorrow. BTW, I'm really enjoying this blogging thing.
