As many homeschoolers do this year, we are raising butterflies. Observing the transformation from tiny little caterpillar, to big FAT caterpillar, to a hanging "J" shape, to a chrysalis then patiently waiting for that beautiful Painted Lady Butterfly to emerge is an exciting journey that always makes me marvel at God's creation once again. He is SO creative and the science behind this metamorphosis is astounding, I'm sure. Just HOW does this happen? I don't know, really, but I love watching it take place in my living room.
Here are a few photos and we were fortunate enough this year to actually witness the transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis AND took video of it! For some reason I can't get the video to upload so I'll work on that for ya. I was so happy to see this miracle take place since I've never watched it happen before!!
Now we wait for our little butterflies to emerge from their cocoons...
