August

A lot of life has happened since my last post... here's a little update: For the month of July my big girls were in BC house-sitting for my sister-in-law. They had a fabulous time but I missed them terribly and I'm THRILLED that they are back home. At the end of July we met my Mom & Dad (and Laura & Anna) at Yellowstone National Park and camped with Mom & Dad for a week together. It was such a relaxing time of re-connecting with the kids and enjoying the wonders of God's creation throughout the park. Besides the awe-inspiring geothermal features in the park, we saw lots of deer, elk and buffalo. For the rest of the summer our plan is to spend alot of time relaxing, having friends over for tea, walking the dogs, and enjoying the back yard. On a totally different note, my sister (Heather) was admitted to the Abbotsford Hospital last week with viral meningitis. It is really hard to be so far away in Calgary when there is a family crisis! Right now I'm on the phone with Westjet to book a flight to go out there and support her and Stef as much as possible. Thankfully my employer graciously gave me a couple days off this week so I could go out there... I love my job :-) Spent most of the day today in a state of sad / crying mood. I fully expected that Heather would be home this morning and her life would be "back to normal" but since she had a relapse last night it may be a day or two longer 'till she gets home. I think this threw me for a bit of a loop and I've just felt really emotional about it all this afternoon. Anyway, I'm looking forward to being reunited with the family on Wednesday and to be of assistance - physically and emotionally - to my loved ones out there. Praying for your healing, Heather!!

I have always heard of Yellowstone BUT I was completely impressed at the amount of sights to see. I am so thrilled to have toured this area with a lovely Couple of tour guides.
