Wow, over a year since my last blog post!!! Guess I've been busy :-)
Here's a quick update and hopefully I'll be more on top of things and keep this blog updated this year.
Kent: He's owns www.bsafe.ca also known as Iron Horse Industry Supply. He and his business partner were feeling the slump of the 2009 recession so decided to "diversify their portfolio". This means they bought a house to renovate and rent out as an investment property. As of today they have 3 of the four suites rented and are busy finishing the reno for the fourth suite so they can finish up this project. I think the plan is to then look for Project #2 and begin work on that one. The recession situation has definitely improved and they are back on track with regular Iron Horse stuff, too so this keeps Kent pretty busy but he's still home for supper every night so that makes me happy!
Lisa: I'm working part-time at Canadian Home Education Resources and really enjoying it. I get paid to encourage and help fellow homeschoolers!!! How fun is that?! I've only been there for a few months so there's still a pretty steep learning curve but it's a great working environment and I'm making some new friends, too. Another serendipity of this new job is that I get to use my brain more than I was at home :-)
Laura: Well, baby #1 has already graduated!!! She's just finishing up her last course (Religious Studies) and her ETA for completion is the end of January. Once that's off her plate she'll likely be looking for a job and then off to school to become a dog trainer. She's enjoyed having her own pooch so much that she thinks this may be a great career opportunity. Anyone have a dog that needs training?!
Anna: Busy with her artwork, grade 11, bible quizzing, piano, violin, and small group Anna is still able to have such a cheery disposition and is such a big help to me in the kitchen. The girl can cook up a storm!! She's just starting her new art business so check out her website at www.GraceArtistry.com
Emily: The baby of our family is a wonderful 13 year old who is maturing into a godly young woman. She LOVES her horseback riding lessons, her Greek lessons, youth group, and youth church. She's in grade 8 and doesn't love that so much but tries to stay focused and up to date on her work.
Well, that's the update for now. One of these days I'll post something a little more from the heart. I'll be starting a Precept Bible Study on 1 Samuel on Monday so I'm really excited to learn what God has to show me over these next several weeks. I've never done a Precept class before and I know there's alot of homework involved but I'm looking forward to "sinking my teeth in" and being sustained by His "bread of life".
Thanks for checking in and let me know how things are with your family, too!!
