Nika pre-training

Okay, so here we go again. To make a long story short, we have had Nika now for over 10 months. We had made a decision to wait until May 2006 before we made a permanent decision to keep her or put her down. Up until yesterday, I would say our decision was to keep her for sure. She has been SO good and very responsive to our training thus far. HOWEVER, today she snapped at Laura's hand and actually broke the skin while Laura was trying to retrieve a piece of chocolate muffin out of the dog's mouth. Laura's hand is just fine and it was only a small puncture, not a gaping wound or anything but I'm still upset about it. Now we are forced to look at this decision all over again. I do think the dog can be trained and taught to correct this (and other) behaviour. I also know that it is a HUGE project for our family to undertake and I'm not so sure we are up to the challenge. Anyway, it's late and I'm tired. I will post more tomorrow when I've had a chance to sleep on it. Goodnight
